Impacting Lives of Children in Hayes, Clarendon
Born and raised in Savannah District, Hayes, Clarendon, Bishop Martin carries with him the values, lessons, and resilience instilled by his early environment—qualities that have guided his path as a pastor based in New York. Now, driven by a deep sense of gratitude and purpose, he is determined to sow seeds of hope and opportunity in the lives of the next generation. Through an initiative he calls his “academic mission,” Bishop Martin has launched Operation Change: Let the Children Come—a program dedicated to empowering youth through education, mentorship, and community support. His vision is to inspire lasting change, not just in classrooms, but in hearts, homes, and futures.

Founded in 2021 by Bishop Owen Martin, Operation Change began with a simple yet powerful idea: to make a difference where it matters most — in people’s lives. What started as a modest vision rooted in compassion, faith, and community has since blossomed into a thriving, community-powered organization dedicated to uplifting and empowering individuals, especially children and families in need. Inspired by Bishop Martin’s deep connection to his hometown and his unwavering commitment to service, the organization has grown steadily, reaching hundreds of lives each year through educational support, mentorship programs, community outreach, and spiritual guidance. Guided by the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive, Operation Change continues to expand its reach, building a legacy of hope, transformation, and lasting impact in Jamaica and beyond.
